Penny Lowery graduated from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1985, and completed the JCM seminars, a course in Traditional Chinese Medicine, in 1987. She trained in counselling and Gestalt therapy at the Pellin Centre and Institute in London and Italy between 1988 and 1991, and later completed two years’ further training with the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology, gaining accreditation with the British Association of Counsellors in 1994.

Penny was a founding member and director of the New Cross Natural Therapy Centre, a centre for complementary medicine in South-East London which has continue to flourish from its inception in 1985 until the present. She continued in a busy private practice at the Centre and at her home until the late 1990s, when she moved to Devon.

Having long had an interest in the treatment of allergies and intolerances, Penny attended three post-graduate courses in NAET allergy clearing in France from 2002 to 2004, becoming a qualified NAET practitioner and practising in Exeter.

She recently took a break from her practice to explore her interest in diversity by completing a PhD in age and gender theory. In the past she has also worked as an actor and stage manager, and been a teacher of EFL and of English at University level. Alongside her practice, she currently teaches Italian. Penny expresses her creativity by writing poetry, singing in a world music choir and making mosaics

She practises at The Well Being Centre and from her home in Crediton.
